I am a proud Mardigan woman who inherited my Mardigan culture from my mother who was my greatest inspiration. My mother was a strong proud Mardigan woman who loved her family and lived by her Mardigan ways. She taught me to walk and talk in one culture and supported me to learn the other. My paternal grandparents are Mardigan/Kooma and my paternal grandparents are Murriwarri/Kamilaroi.
The logo on this website represents my mother's totem the crow. The colours within this logo represents the cultural knowledge that she has passed on to my 4 siblings and I. We are now too keepers of Mardigan ancestral knowledge.
I am a member of the Certified Practicing Accountants Australia (CPA) and the Institute of Internal Auditors Australia (IIA).
Over the past 30 years I have worked in the fields of administration, accounting and auditing in Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal positions in the private, public and university sectors. I have also been involved in Aboriginal Corporations as an employee, member and director as well as a Native Title claim with the Mardigan people.
During this time, I have completed a Master of Philosophy (Research in Governance), the Graduate Certificate in Internal Auditing, the Certified Practicing Accountants Program and a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) as well as the Graduate Certificate in Wiradjuri Language, Culture and Heritage and Certificate 1 in Aboriginal Languages for Everyday Use (Wiradjuri).
