Betty Vincent
I am a proud Mardigan woman, who inherited my Mardigan culture from my mother, who was my greatest inspiration. My mother was a strong proud Mardigan woman who loved her family and lived by her Mardigan ways. She taught me to walk and talk in one culture and supported me to learn the other. The logo on this website represents my mothers totem the crow. The colours within this logo represents the cultural knowledge that she has passed on too her 5 children. Together we become the crow and the keeper of sacred Mardigan ancestral knowledge. I also have connections to the Murriwarri people as my father was a Murriwarri man.
I am a member of the Certified Practicing Accountants Australia (CPA) and the Institute of Internal Auditors Australia (IIA).
Over the past 30 years I have worked in the fields of administration, accounting and auditing in Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal positions in the private, public and university sectors. I have also been involved in Aboriginal Corporations as an employee, member and director as well as a Native Title claim with the Mardigan people.
During this time, I have completed a Master of Philosophy (Research in Black and White Governance Law in Australia), Graduate Certificate in Wiradjuri Language, Culture and Heritage, the Graduate Certificate in Internal Auditing, the Certified Practicing Accountants Program and a Bachelor of Business (Accounting).
